Ashok Sancheti - The Head of Practice
Abhijit

Ashok is the head of the practice and qualified in 1981.He is also qualified as Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Ashok has been in practice for over twenty years and has acquired substantial experience and expertise with regard to company and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, sale and purchase of companies, corporate finance transactions, off-shore trusts, international technology transfers, corporate insolvency and intellectual property matters. Ashok is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a life member of the Indian Council of Arbitration. He supervises commercial litigation and conducts international arbitration and has accepted appointment as an arbitrator in several complex international arbitration proceedings.

Abhijit Khandeparkar- Financial Services and Mergers & Acquisitions

Abhijit

Abhijit is the head of Morgan Walker’s financial services and Merger and Acquisition team. He has completed his first degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and worked for several years in leading Pharmaceutical Companies in India before completing his LLB. He also has a Masters in Business Laws from the National Law School of India University with Distinction and stood first with a gold medal in his Masters in Business Administration specializing in Finance from the Goa Institute of Management. He is enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council in India and is also qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. His scope of work includes corporate finance, M&A, capital markets (equity and debt), loan syndication, structured and acquisition finance, domestic and international commercial Litigation and Arbitration. He is also involved in shipping arbitration. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Essex Business School.

Alireza Nurbakhsh - Commercial Property, Landlord and Tenant and Property Litigation
Ali

Alireza received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1988 and worked as a publisher and editor in London for a number of years before choosing a career in law and qualifying as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Alireza joined Morgan Walker in 2006 and is the head of the Property department. He focuses in all aspects of Property law including commercial leases, property litigation and landlord and tenant. He also advises on matters relating to commercial litigation, arbitration and joint venture disputes.

Deepa Sugathan - IT and Employment
Deepa

Deepa is the head of IT and Employment department. She joined Morgan Walker’s Commercial team in 2007 and advises mainly on Licensing, Technology Transfer, Outsourcing, Intellectual Property and Employment Law with special focus on IT Companies.  She obtained BA LLB (Hons) from Mahatma Gandhi University, India and subsequently specialised in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Law from University of East Anglia, UK. Before joining Morgan Walker she worked as      In-house Contracts Specialist for a London based IT Company.

Leni Mathai - Immigration
Leni Mathai

Leni completed LLM in Intellectual Property Law and was enrolled as Advocate in India in 1992 and became a Solicitor in England in July 2005. Leni joined Morgan Walker in 2005 and is the head of the Immigration Department.

Vaishnav Amba - Dispute Resolution
Vaishnav

Vaishnav is the head of Dispute Resolution, Shipping and Aviation. He is a dual qualified lawyer; both in India and the UK. He was awarded a prestigious university scholarship to study an LLM in International Commercial and Trade Laws from the University of Kent in 2006. He joined Morgan Walker in 2007 and is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. His scope of work includes domestic and international commercial litigation and arbitration (LME, LCIA, ICC, LMAA), international trade, employment and corporate insolvency matters. He is also a guest lecturer at the University of Essex Business School.
