Where a dispute can be resolved without having to go to court or appointing an independent arbitrator, we seek to persuade clients to settle in their own interests so that no time and effort is wasted in obtaining a judgment or award.

Arbitration, a process used to settle a dispute in a non-judicial setting, is particularly effective for international commercial disputes because of the relative informality of the way proceedings are normally conducted, and their speed, efficiency and confidentiality.

We have handled disputes involving high-value cargo and charter-party disputes. In arbitration proceedings, we have acted for our clients in various commodity trade association rules and under those of Chambers of Commerce and international organisations such as GAFTA, LMAA, the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes and the London Court of International Arbitration.
